Joseph Eugene Plant
Born March 28, 1867, Oundle Northampton, England
Died November 2, 1918, Vancouver BC, Canada
Joseph grew up in the bakery business working with his father, Joseph Plant, from a young age. He married Lydia Bailey and had three sons, Charles, Alfred, and Ralph. In 1899, after the birth of Ralph, Lydia died and the family split apart for some time. He remarried soon thereafter a woman who was working in the bakery, Phyllis Lillian Evans with whom he had one daughter, Phyllis Lillian Plant.
In 1909 after some business setbacks, he emigrated to Canada with his young family, first to Quebec City and then to Toronto but by 1911 the family was living in Vancouver. There he worked as a bakery inspector before eventually returning to the business world shortly before his death in 1918
